SOUPS&STORIES DIALOGUE on the theme "Insisting to be".
Marie starts out sharing a story on the theme "Insisting to be". She tells us about how her main interest in life is the arts through literature and theatre. She tells us how hard it is trying to get a job after having finished an education in theatre and literature.
Noon tells us a story about how she is in the middle of a process of looking into the Sudanese part of her heritage, and how to fit that into how she defines herself.
Al Harris describes the difficult choice he had between risking his life in escaping Syria to come to Europe, or risking his life staying behind in the warzone.
A lot of people wanted to share experiences around this theme.
Soups&Stories have experimented with various methods of exchanging personal stories and experience. In short a dialogue is an investigative and experimental group conversation with a nonhierarchical structure where consensus is not the goal. Dialogues create a context for conversation in which new and nuanced insights into local and international issues can emerge. The point is not to agree or win over others to one’s point of view; rather it is too listen to each other and share perceptions, experiences, and worldviews.
